Cream Bell wanted to compete with the experiential dessert brands attracting a younger, experience-driven audience. Its existing retail format lacked a distinct emotional narrative and did not fully capture the playful nostalgia associated with ice cream. The challenge was to create a more desirable, premium experience while keeping the brand accessible to families.

Cream Bell needed more than an upgraded interior. It needed a concept that could reposition the brand, translate a clear emotional story into the physical environment, and provide a repeatable format for future expansion.

GLIMMA benchmarked experiential retail internationally and developed a concept rooted in the memory of eating ice cream: nostalgia, discovery and playful escapism. The work extended from strategy and concept development through naming, identity, spatial design and rollout recommendations.

GLIMMA created Cream Bell Dreamery, a premium experiential parlour concept designed to turn the brand into a contemporary destination and provide a format built to scale.

The challenge

From ice cream parlour to experience

Cream Bell wanted to move beyond a conventional ice cream retail format and create a more premium parlour experience capable of competing with emerging experiential dessert brands.

The existing format did not have a strong emotional narrative or a distinctive reason for customers to spend more time in the space. The new concept needed to create greater desirability and perceived quality while staying recognisable and accessible to families.

The challenge was to translate the emotional appeal of ice cream into a physical experience that felt contemporary and premium without losing its sense of play.

The approach

Memory first. Then the room.

GLIMMA developed a concept rooted in the emotional memory of enjoying ice cream — nostalgia, discovery and playful escapism — translated into a contemporary retail experience.

International benchmarking and trend analysis informed the strategy, drawing cues from experiential retail venues, gamification in customer journeys and modern sweet-treat interiors. The approach blended storytelling with spatial design, so the environment communicates a clear brand narrative before a word of it is read.

Concept development extended beyond interiors to include naming, identity and a scalable framework suitable for future rollout.

The solution

Cream Bell Dreamery.
An immersive brand playground.

The result was Cream Bell Dreamery — a premium parlour concept designed as an immersive brand playground. GLIMMA delivered it end to end: international benchmarking, strategic concept ideation, parlour naming and identity, spatial planning and layout, full environment concept design, furniture and finishes specification, environmental graphics and rollout recommendations. The interior palette draws inspiration from the desserts themselves — soft oversized forms, vibrant tones balanced with vanilla and cream hues, and warm waffle textures fractured into playful patterns. Bright curiosity meets refined detailing in a space that invites exploration, delivering childlike escapism without sacrificing modern aesthetic credibility.

A concept is only as good as its repeatability: naming, identity, furniture and finishes were specified so the format holds from the first opening to the last.

The impact

From outlet to destination.
Built to repeat.

The Dreamery concept repositions Cream Bell from a conventional ice cream outlet to an experiential destination.

The environment encourages dwell time, social interaction and shareable moments, aligning with contemporary consumer expectations of what visiting a dessert brand should feel like.

By elevating the physical experience, the brand gains a scalable format capable of supporting expansion while strengthening emotional connection with visitors.

Why us?

Emotion, translated into space

Cream Bell required more than interior design — it required emotional brand translation into physical space. GLIMMA bridges strategy, storytelling and environment design, ensuring that a creative vision becomes a commercially viable rollout model.

The project demonstrates GLIMMA’s ability to merge experiential retail thinking with operational scalability. Where trend-led concepts often lack structure, GLIMMA delivers environments built for long-term brand growth.

GLIMMA continues to support Cream Bell as the Dreamery concept evolves into a scalable experiential retail platform.

Concept from strategy. The narrative comes first — international benchmarking and trend analysis before a single form is drawn.
